General Settings

We establish a list of administrative configurations for the proper functioning of a Moodle site.

1. Moodle version:

  • Using 4.1.4 version which is still with security support.
  • Cron running as recommended by moodle.

2. Language and localization:

  • Site settings set in English.
  • Time zone set in Costa Rica.

3. Users and security:

  • Use of strong password policy.

4. Email Outgoing:

  • Established and tested email output.

5. Privacy:

  • Set cookie options to comply with privacy regulations.
  • Includes a basic privacy policy.

6. Plugins:

  • Latest version of the installed plugins.
  • Installed the most used plugins in courses.

7. Environment Settings:

  • Recommended database engine (MySQL).
  • Configure the Moodle cache to improve performance.
  • The Moodle optimization guide is implemented.

8. Security settings:

  • SSL/TLS certificate configured for message encryption.
  • Configured cache for site performance.
  • Database backups and data from the server
  • Automatic backup schedule configured.
